Economic Plan

As housing accessibility decreases and the middle class shrinks, CEO pay rate increases continue to greatly outpace that of their employees. Meanwhile, Republican politicians sit on the sidelines.

Georgia needs to return to middle class-centered capitalism so that employees can once again be self-sufficient. had state legislators allowed minimum wage to increase with inflation and worker productivity, employees would currently earn a minimum of $22.80/hour. When I am elected, I will raise the minimum wage to at least $17/hour and automate it to increase with inflation.

I will require employers to provide 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, and institute state-funded parental leave at the minimum wage rate — 12 weeks for maternity leave and 2 weeks for one additional adult in the household, or a total of 14 weeks per household for surrogacy or adoption. Foster parents would receive one week of state-funded minimum wage for each child entering their home.

Additionally, I would expand Medicaid and prioritize measures that address the housing crisis, provide free birth control, aid with children, and ensure children in our state don’t go hungry.
